As big of a Tilda fan as I am, I have seemed to have forgotten this is also the year of another redhead: Julianne Moore. (Also one of my favorite actresses ever). SO they can share the Year of award. Here is what Julianne has in store for us this year:
* Catch her now in Savage Grace! I am reading the book now and it is amazing. I can't put it down and can't wait to see Julianne Moore handle the character of Barbara Bakeland - the socialite wife of the grandson of the creator of plastic who has a (shall we say) interesting relationship with her son. (Oscar buzz all over this one)
* She just opened at Cannes another movie creating tons of buzz for her performance: Blindness. Its based on the book of the same title about an entire town who is struck down with blindness. The only person left who can see is the Doctor's Wife (aka Julianne Moore).
* She stars alongside lots of big names (Robin Wright Penn, Winona Rider, Maria Bello, Keaunu Reeves, and Adam Arkin) in the Private Lives of Pippa Lee. Its about a woman dating a man much older than her who has to be moved into a home - which causes her an emotional breakdown.
* She stars with Tom Hanks (yuck) in Boone's Lick directed by Barry Levinson and based on the novel by Larry McMurtry.
* Next up is Hateship, Courtship, Friendship. Not much is known about this film yet - the brief synopsis given says: A nanny hired to care for a teenage girl falls for their ailing father. Sounds INtense.
* And finally is Morgan's Summit co-starring Bruce Willis. The synopsis is: A late night radio host (Willis) who promotes the power of kindness changes his ways after a brutal crime affects his life and his thoughts turn to vengeance. Interesting.
Can someone please give this woman an Oscar. I mean shes been nominated 5 times, no wins. And have you seen Far From Heaven, Safe, The Hours, Boogie Nights, Magnolia, Map of the World, Short Cuts, or basically anything shes in (except maybe The Hand that Rocks the Cradle)? I think this year shes got another shot!
