Daily Amy: Heartbeat

Things are looking scary for Miz Amy. Tests have revealed that Amy has an irregular heartbeat and she is also being treated for a brutal heroin addiction. Since being in the hospital she has had one seizure, which was believed to be caused by withdrawal of drugs into her system. That, however scary it sounds, is actually good news. The quicker the drugs get out of Amy's system (which could take weeks) the sooner a treatment could begin, doctors say. Her father has been staying by her bedside around the clock and still tells reporters that she is doing fine, and he is sure that this time Amy will get better.

Amy is supposed to perform at Nelson Mandela's birthday party and headline the Glastonbury music festival later this month. However, doctors think that thats a horrible idea. They would like to keep her in the hospital as long as possible. An insider friend was reported to have said: "She should take at least six months off to get better. It is irresponcible of her team to keep putting her onstage in this state." However a spokesperson for Winehouse has said: "We have advised Amy to cancel her last two performances because she was not up to it, but she refused, stating she wanted to please her fans, and play her show no matter what else was going on.
