Dancing With the Stars Curse?

First it was Jewel, then it was Nancy O'Dell. Both dropped out of the competition due to injuries. Then this week Steve-O, from Jackass, has gotten himself a pinched nerve, and now Steve W., co-founder of Apple and ex of Kathy Griffin, is in a cast. He refuses to give up though saying his dance this week would be "Even faster and more fun than last week."

Just don't let Lil' Kim get hurt!

American Idol: Top 13

The top 16 on American Idol performed last night, and overall it was an entertaining show! The theme, Michael Jackson, which is tough to say the least. Here, in corralation with the photo I made above, are my rundowns from best to worst:

#1 - ALEXIS - She was a powerhouse! A surprise pick for my number one slot, I found Alexis to be the most entertaining and exciting of the night. I had almost forgotten why I liked her so much. The performance just built and built until it exploded just to do it again. Perfect song, perfect performance, I had chills.

#2 - ADAM - I am coming to think that Adam can do no wrong as a singer and performer. He did a great job of making this song his own. He sang with passion, emotion, and proved he is a threat in this competition. He was fantastic!

#3 - MEGAN - My favorite little songbird took on Rockin' Robin, and while some didn't like the song choice - I loooooved it. I could actually make love with the song choice if that was possible. Megan was adorable, sang great, and with the birdlike theme of the song, it allowed her to flap her wings and do her cute Amy Winehouse-like dancing. She is original, different, and wonderful.

#4 - ALLISON - Although she was not as good as when she sang Alone, she still was stellar! And leaps and bounds better than everyone under her. AND she sang my favorite Michael song - Give In To Me! She was great, and she stuck to what she does best. She's a rocker chick on this show with a chance to stick around!

#5 - MATT - He once again proved why I like him. He is a talented singer with a bluesy feel that I find different from the array of boring and robotic guys below.

#6 - KRIS - The big surprise of the night for me! He was actually good!! I now may be in the pro-Kris camp. Now, don't get too excited .. I don't really like him yet, however I knew I would like the 5 above, but I also knew I wouldn't like Kris, and he changed my mind. Good for him.

#7 - DANNY - Couldn't disagree more with Paula's comment that Danny's voice is one that you would know on the radio. I certainly wouldn't. Because there is nothing original about his voice. Its a good voice, sure, but very very bland. That's why he is so low here. He sang well, but kinda looked silly and screeched a bit. I just cannot buy into the Danny love.

#8 - LIL - Another person I will never be able to buy into is Lil Rounds. Sure, she can sing, but she didn't do herself any favors tonight. She was first of all a bore, and second of all not interesting in the slightest. The only thing I noticed about her performance, if I'm being honest, was her huge butt.

#9 - MICHAEL - I was sure he would have been my number 13. However, he sang in tune, and therefore beat out the losers who rank under him. It was NOTHING special or good though. Just in tune.

#10 - JASMINE - I do not know why she is in this competition. She sang a bit in tune, and a bit all over the place. All the while being boring. She should go home soon. Please. If I wanted to watch Mo'Nique I would watch the Parkers! (and I do, I love Mo'Nique)

#11 - SCOTT - Good god can you spell over hype. Scott IS NOT a good singer. He has never proved to me, in any round, that he is. Let's put aside the silliness, and put our hurt feelings aside from my negativity, and let me spell the truth: Scott is in this competition because he is blind! People feel pity or sympathy or what have you. And they completely turn a deaf ear to the fact that he cannot sing AT ALL. Its a singing competition! Not a piano playing competition (if it was, Matt would win that) or a scary gaze competition (which Scott would sail away with). I just wish a better singer was in his spot.

#12 - JORGEY - Wow. All I can say is that this makes Sanjaya look like Enrique Englasias. Well maybe it wasn't that bad, but there was nothing good to be found here.

#13 - ANOOP - This performance will go down in the books as one of the worst performances ever on American Idol. He is all of a sudden cocky, with nothing to back it up. He is a ridiculous performer and bad singer. And he should never have even been allowed in the top group. GO HOME!

---

Okay now that thats out of the way, here is the 3 I predict will be in the bottom 3:

obviously it should be Anoop, Jorgey, and Scott ... however I predict that:
Jorgey, Jasmine, and Megan will be in the bottom with Jorgey and Jasmine packing (which would also be great)!

But tonight theres a twist ... who knows whats going on?

tune in

#11 - SCOTT -

American Idol Week 2!

YAY! What a rejuvenating week for American Idol. Last week was a disaster for me (besides Alexis and the intruiging Tatiana). This week we had at least 5 or 6 really great performances. Here is my rundown of last night:

THE GREAT

*ALLISON* Although her interview with Ryan was trying at best, she blew me away. When she said she was singing 'Alone' by Heart, I just knew she would be awful. She's 16.. come on! Well I was amazed and happily shocked. She turned out the best vocals of the night easily.

*ADAM* The resident rocker hottie of this year did not dissapoint. He showed off the most amazing range of the season thus far. He should have no problem sailing through most of the competition.

*MEGAN* Hello favorite! Although this wasn't her best performance, I just fall in love with her so easily. She has a unique voice and anyone who can stand behind the mic and awkwardly wiggle in such a cute way (aka Amy Winehouse), I love. I think this competition needs a unique voice like hers. I surely hope she makes it through! Im smitten.

THE VERY GOOD

*JESSE* She looks like Fiona Apple, and has a unique and husky voice. Which I love. She also nailed one of my favorite classic songs, Bette Davis Eyes. I wish she had more support because she deserves it. She's great!

*MISHAVONNA* What a name! Hers wasn't the best performance by a longshot, but it was refreshing to hear someone sing completely in tune. I liked her voice, nothing too special about her however. But I applaud her for singing it very well.

THE TONS OF FUN

*NICK/NORMAN* I just can't help but love and get behind Nick/Norman. I am glad he stuck to his tride and true hot mess of a comedy routine. The vocals were not his best for sure, but he did hit some notes, and more importantly will be the most memorable. I like him!

THE GOOD

*MATT* I like his voice .. quite a lot actually. He has an intense goat-like vibratto which I am sure annoys many, but I really enjoy. I like guys who sound different, rough even. I prefer his voice to that of Danny (the very bland yet good vocalist passed through last week). However he picked a TOUGH song, although very popular which may get votes. He went off key and it was a semi-mess, but I like him still.

*KRIS* He goes into the good category for 2 reasons, he mainly sang on key, and hes kinda cute and fun. I don't expect him to go far though.

THE PASSABLE

*MATT* I like him much better than last weeks plus sized manual laborer. However, this was a boring performance at best. He did sing in tune however, which is a plus.

*KAI* Forgettable but not horrible. I think he blew it overall. But was better than most people last week - sadly.

THE BAD

*JEANINE* Whew, rough as hell. And her whole begging to be on the show, because she's been singing for 14 years, was tiresome. Hers was the worst performance of the night.

*JASMINE* She once showed promise, but she ended her hopes tonight. This was just bad.

---

So I wish the 3 going through would be: Adam as the top guy, Megan as the top girl, and Allison as the 3rd highest vote getter

HOWEVER

I am predicting the 3 to go through are: Adam and Allison as the top vote getters and Matt as the 3rd highest vote getter. (however Norman could be a spoiler!)

American Idol: Group One

What a HORRIFIC first episode. Other than a couple performances (which still weren't AMAZING) this first group was a HUGE dissapointment. I was going to rank them from THE GREAT, THE GOOD, THE BAD, THE UGLY. But this week I dont have that .. so I am going with:

THE GOOD

* ALEXIS - She gave the best performance of the night in my book. It was by no means amazing, but hey, at least she sang well, looked amazing, and didn't run around the stage like a fool. She was an early favorite of mine - and did herself well here, despite having little screen time. I hope she's given the shot to move on.

* DANNY - I like his friend Jamar better, still do. Of course Danny can sing, but I hate when people sing Hero (or anything Mariah Carrey) and then talk about how uplifting it is. Ugh! Just gag me. BUT, he sang it very well, and after many horrible performances, he won me over. Just for the night .. there's something about him and his voice that just doesn't excite me. But easily the second best. (Im sure many would say he was the best)

* TATIANA - Bam! What a shock. This terror of a girl actually blew away most all of the competition. If she wouldn't have gone off key a few little times, and if she weren't the creepiest fame monger alive, I may have ranked her first. But, what a voice. You can't deny that she can sing. I don't think she has much a chance to move on, but if they are moving forward the top guy and girl, and then the 3rd vote getter, if you're going based on votes - she should be included.

THE OKAY

* JACKIE - She is one of my favs, still is. But vocally this was all over the place. Not a good song choice. But, she was the only exciting performer of the night (better than the 3 above). But she needs to show off her voice.

* ANOOP - Boring as all get out, but he sounded okay.

* RICKY - Even more boring than Anoop, and less emotion behind his voice. But he hit all the notes. (This night overall was awful, hence these people being so high)

THE BAD

* STEPHEN - I still think he can sing, but this was a third rate performance. No one sings Michael like Michael, and he actually looked bored. This was just plain terrible.

* MICHAEL - 3rd rate Karaoke - and bad outfit. Overall bad.

THE AWFUL

* ANNE-MARIE - I liked her... until last night. Not only did she sing AWFUL and out of tune, she also came across as a bitch. And when you cause more drama than Tatiana, you are in trouble. She called Sara Barrealius "not good", and then came across total bitch. And she butchered Whitney. Bitchered it actually.

* BRENT - He sang a song called Hick Town. And it sang it like a drunken frat boy at a bad karaoke.

* CASEY - She blew it! She rocked the Amy Winehouse hair, and sang worse than my 3 year old cousin. She was a true disaster in every way. Terrible singing, terrible performance. Awful. Good riddance.

* STEVIE - Poor poor Stevie. She was so nervous and it showed. I am almost 90% sure she didn't sing a single note in tune. This was one of the worst things I have ever seen on this show.

--

I think that the 3 to continue on should be: Alexis, Danny, and Tatiana (and I think they should bring Jackie back on a wildcard night)

However I believe the 3 that will pass on will be: Danny, Alexis, and Anoop

The Terror that is Tatiana

This girl is truly a terror

How AI will work

Things have changed this season on American Idol. Here's how the next couple of weeks will go:

American Idol Season 8 is under way. The Top 36 were announced on Wednesday's show. This year the rules have changed a bit. They will be divided into 3 groups of 12. The groups of 12 will perform on Tuesday. At the conclusion of each results show on Wednesday, the male and female semifinalists who received the highest number of home viewers votes for their previous night's performance will instantly become a Top 12 finalist. In addition, another semifinalist that had received the next-highest number of votes after the performance episode — regardless of gender — will also become a finalist. In the wild card round, the next highest finishers plus other eliminated semi-finalists will return for one more chance to compete. The judges will pick the 3 performers left that they consider the best. No voting by the public will be done at this stage.

SOUNDS INTENSE. and fun

AI Favs and Boo's

So American Idol really starts up this week, so I thought I would list my favorites and least favorites so far. Mind you, I do not know all of these people yet, but as far as I can tell, here's who I like so far ..

(from left to right)

* ADAM LAMBERT - he is good looking, can sing really well, is a theatre guy (bot not overdramatic with it) and he promises to change up popular songs. I like him a lot, and think he could even have a chance to win!

* NICK (NORMAN) MARSHALL - go ahead and hate, but I loooove Norman. The jury is still out on Nick. But honestly, American Idol is a joke. The show is a joke, and most of the singers are jokes .. so its a breath of fresh air to see Nick making a mockery of the show with Norman. He is having fun, and I do too when he performs. The BEST part of it - he can actually sing!!

* JACKIE TOHN - She looks like Alanis, sings like Janis, and is also a wannabe actress. I love it all. She has probably my favorite voice of the group. Plus she plays a mean guitar.

* JESSE LANGSLETH - She reminds me of Fiona Apple, with a powerful soul voice. Shes awkwardly pretty. I like her, what little I have seen.

* MEGAN CORKERY - This was the single mom I liked most, out of a lot of them, lol. They never showed her after her initial audition - but she had an old school voice which was amazing. I really hope the voters give her a chance.

* ALEXIS GRACE - I love when tiny people have huge voices. Shes a single mother too. And she has a rock vibe, with a soul voice. I like it all.

---
And now, here's the people I would have left out of the group, the ones I don't like already and want to go home .. now:

* KRISTIN MACNAMARA - She has been given too much camera time. She was the one person in the ill fated group of 3, that I think caused the most problems. Her voice is okay, but she looks and dresses like a fool, and I find her amateurish and annoying. I want her out first.

* NATHANIEL MARSHAL - DRAMA QUEEN! He could almost give Tatiana a rush for her money. He wears ill fitting clothes, and sings average. I don't like him.

* TATIANA DEL TORO - Now I will admit, she can sing. Well actually. But she may go down in history as one of the most annoying people on television. She will either go away quickly, or somehow make it a long way. She does make good TV though, dammit.

* JORGE NUNEZ-MENDEZ - I just don't think he can sing. Period.

* ALEX WAGNER-TRUGMAN - The faces he makes are horrific. And he has a bland boring voice. Shouldn't have passed through.

--

Okay there you have it.
We will see how it all unfolds.

I am shocked by this news, and don't know if I should be saddened or overjoyed, but Lil' Kim has been announced as one of the contenders for this years Dancing with the Stars. But in the end, I am happy about it. Dancing with the Stars is the #1 rated show on television, thousands of people watch it, hopefully they will all fall in love with Lil' Kim like me, and she will put out an album very soon that will be hugely popular. Thats why I am guessing shes on the show - to promote a future album!!

If you knew me last year, you know I was LOVING Celebrity Apprentice. I used to like the show, the first 3 seasons, and then it became awful. The cast list has been announced for this years go-round, and without further a due here they are, and the charities they are playing for:

CLINT BLACK

Sharon will DESTROY you

This may be the most exciting news EVER. As you may know, Sharon Osbourne is hosting the Rock Of Love Charm School on VH1, which is one of the most entertaining guilty pleasures you will find on television. The finale will be this Sunday, followed by a reunion special next week. TUNE IN to the reunion special, because drama will go down. Sharon is the host, teaching the skanks of Rock of Love etiquette and such. Well apparently Sharon throws it all out of the window, and for some reason Megan (one of the funniest from the show) gets her very angry and ... Sharon beats the living hell out of her!!! You read it right. 60 something Sharon taking down 20 something Meghan. Apparently it was so bad Megan wouldn't leave the studio without security, fearing Sharon would beat her again in the parking lot, and she is now SUING Mrs. Osbourne. All I can say is that SHARON ROCKS MY WORLD, and I will be watching!!!

Rosie Cancelled

Rosie Odonnell brought huge new ratings and a new breath of life into "The View" however she couldn't sell the American tv watcher on her variety show. It recieved horrible reviews (including a very mixed one from me) and under 3 million viewers (which is very poor for the night before Thanksgiving). NBC had given her 4 slots, including a Christmas special, to try out the format and based on how those 4 shows went, she had a possibility of making it a weekly show. However after only 1 special, Rosie has been cancelled. There will be no more variety specials. Rosie herself went onto her blog and had this to say about it:

not enough rehearsal
the live part wasnt a plus
the in theater experience didnt transfer to tv
we were going for ed sullivan
and theres only one carol b
and hey
i gave it my best shot
there will b no more
no ratings
bad reviews
yet still - a thrill 4 me

I can only hope for the best for the Osbournes, as they will premiere their variety show on tv soon.
