Elton John has asked Amy Winehouse to perform at his 2009 Oscar party. For the past 13 years, Elton has hotes the most popular post-show party and it also raises money for his AIDS foundation, the Elton John AIDS Foundation. His previous performers have been: Himself, U2, Mary J. Blige, James Blunt, Aretha Franklin, and others. And this year he wants Amy. Elton says: "Amy is the best artist in music today. My favorite artist. She sings from the soul, and what a voice. I desperately want her at my party as the head liner. She is doing better lately, and I would love to give her a chance to sing all night. I know everyone is excited for her to return to live gigs."
