A New American Idol

The people at Fox are tinkering with American Idol for the new season beginning in Janurary. Thank God! That show has gotten so stale. I think the new ideas sound great - and will make me want to watch the show this go-round. The first HUGE change is that there will now be 4 judges. Kara DioGuardi (pictured), a grammy-nominated song writer, will join Simon, Paula, and Randy at the judges table. Rumor has it Paula is pissed that shes no longer the only woman on the judges stand. No idea of what kind of judge she will be, I hope shes a female Simon and will stand up to him.

Also they will be focusing more on the Hollywood round, and less on the bad auditions. Which I also think is a good thing. The audition weeks take FOREVER. Like 4-5 weeks long. Then the Hollywood week is wrapped into 2 episodes. NOW, they will make the auditions shorter, so that America can get to know the Hollywood finalists. Thats great. Now there wont be people in the top 12 that we've never seen before.

I hope the talent pool is better, and the show is more exciting.
