My latest Oscar Predictions

I'm sure the constant Oscar prediction updates are killing Nicholas, but I can't wait to look back and see if I had it right come nomination time. With buzz changing from one way to another, here are my latest nominations.

BEST PICTURE

Milk
Slumdog Millionaire
Revolutionary Road
The Dark Knight
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

*horrific reviews have dropped Australia out of the running. Slumdog looks poised to be this years Juno and as Benjamin Button slides down, I think Batman will slide in.

BEST ACTOR

Mickey Rourke - The Wrestler
Sean Penn - Milk
Richard Jenkins - The Visitor
Clint Eastwood - Gran Tourino
Frank Langella - Frost/Nixon

* I think its Mickey Vs. Sean at this point, the others should just be glad to be nominated.

BEST ACTRESS

Anne Hathaway - Rachel Getting Married
Kristin Scott Thomas - I've Loved You So Long
Melissa Leo - Frozen River
Kate Winslet - Revolutionary Road
Maryl Streep - Doubt

* As the buzz grows for underdog Melissa Leo, a biggy like Angelina Jolie has dropped off, and Meryl isn't far behind because of the bad reviews she's getting early on from Doubt. Anne Hathaway seems to be holding on the most despite her movie being released first.

BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR

Heath Ledger - The Dark Knight
James Franco - Milk
Phillip Seymore Hoffman - Doubt
Josh Brolin - Milk
Michael Shannon - Revolutionary Road

* Its still Heath's to lose, and he won't. I think the Milk boys may get 2 nods in 1 catagory however.

BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS

Viola Davis - Doubt
Penelope Cruz - Vicky Christina Barcelona
Kate Winslet - The Reader
Marisa Tomei - The Wrestler
Cate Blanchett - The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

* Cate is new, although I think it still may come down to Viola or Penelope.

So as far as it looks, I have the winners as this:

Best Picture - Milk
Best Actor - Mickey Rourke: The Wrestler
Best Actress - Anne Hathaway: Rachel Getting Married
Best S. Actor - Heath Ledger: The Dark Knight
Best S. Actress - Viola Davis: Doubt
