Amy Winehouse turned 25 yesterday, and a huge party was planned by her mother and father and a few close friends. However Amy did not show. Amy's best friend Remi Nicole worked with her mother and father (Mitch and Janis) on planning a safe fun outing for Amy. However Amy locked herself in her home. Remi spent 3 hours trying to get Amy to leave. The saddness behind her no show is heartbreaking. Remi said: Amy was standing in front of a mirror crying because she feels she is ugly. She refused to leave with me, and I couldn't have been more heartbroken.
Amy's appearance has deterioated quite a bit since her hard drug use has continued. The party, with such high profile guests including Adele, Mark Ronson, Elton John, and others went on without Amy - however everyone left early saddened not to see the birthday girl. Her mother, for one, was crushed. Amy wouldn't allow anyone else into the house for the rest of the night. And she spent her birthday all alone.
So sad.
