This is for Nicholas:

The final book in the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer was released this week and it broke records. It now sits atop the list of the best 1 day sales ever. Pretty impressive - seeing that I hadn't even heard about these books until Entertainment Weekly did a spread on them. I think I shall have to start the first one soon.

The Hills - a Fake

This is no surprise - but the Hills is a complete and utter fake. Here's the most recent proof:

Daily Amy 2: The Meatball Song

Amy Winehouse is busy recording and writing her new album, the follow-up to Back to Black which has now gone triple platinum. Some lyrics of a song she has just completed have found their way to the internet. The song is tentavily called "The Meatball Song", and its chorus goes:

hahahaha! Oh Amy! She is also writing songs about growing up Jewish. And producers say she is extremely happy and giddy in the studio. I don't care what she sings about - I am gonna LOVE it.

Whats she hiding?

This is strange, and kinda sad. Mary-Kate Olsen has been issued a subpoena to testify about the Heath Ledger death case. Traces of oxy-cotin were found in his hotel room (and perhaps his system although they didnt release that info). He was staying at Mary Kate's apartment building, and had called her in the hours leading up to his death. Mary-Kate today refused to testify, saying she would only do it if she was guaranteed immunity. What?! What's she hiding?

A letter to Duffy

I am starting to not like Duffy, the more she speaks and the more I learn about her. Come to find out Duffy was a second place finished 2 years ago in the Canadian version of American Idol. That was a bit shocking. And recently she said this in an interview:

"I do not like comparisons to Amy Winehouse or Dusty Springfield. I am nothing like them. I have my own look and my own unique voice. I don't like people saying that Amy Winehouse opened the door for singers like myself when we sound nothing alike. Someone compared me to Diana Ross once, now that I like. I am a Diana Ross, a female Otis Redding, not a Winehouse or a one-hit wonder like Dusty Springfield."

Okay miss priss, here's how I would respond:

Dear Duffy,

Congrats for achieving some sort of success after being on a singing reality show. Your album is good, and I do enjoy the songs your song writers have written for you. You are young and talented. However, your voice sounds like someone far more talented an unique: Amy Winehouse. I have heard you sing prior to your album release and suddenly your voice and your music had changed, and frankly its trying to be a carbon copy of Winehouse. Except for the fact that the soul and the passion behind the words aren't there. Maybe thats because Amy wrote the songs herself, or because frankly shes a better singer. I think people compare you to Amy Winehouse, because after the success of her album your record label wanted to cash in on some of that money, so they molded you into an Amy Winehouse. The Amy without all the drama, and without all the tabloid problems. And unfortunately without all the soul and talent - and maybe staying power. We shall soon see. Diana Ross you are not. Otis Redding you are not. Dusty Springfield (whom I am sure will be remembered long after you) you are not. I guess for now you will have to settle with a second rate Amy Winehouse. Work on you, and don't worry about comparisons. You are where you are because you have been compared to her.

FIGHT!

This is the CRAZIEST thing I may have blogged about on my blog. Just listen to what went down at a movie theatre in LA between 2 semi-famous people:

Nikki Blonski (from the movie Hairspray) and her family were going to see a movie over the weekend, The Dark Knight. Nikki's family had run out to the snack bar to grab some snacks before the movie began, and Blonski was holding 5 seats. Well in comes Bianca (pictured right, and 4th place finisher on last seasons America's Next Top Model). Her and her mother and a friend were looking for seats in the sold out theatre. They save 5 empty seats and sat down. Blonsky then became raging mad saying the seats were saved. Words were exchanged - it seems Blonsky had nothing sitting on the seats to hold them, so Bianca and clan decided to sit anyhow. Then things got BAD. Blonsky's family returned and her father got into a fight with Bianca's mother. THEN - Nikki Blonsky's father punched Bianca's mother to the ground! Bianca then ran for the father and Blonsky stopped her - to which Bianca and Nikki began fighting and pulling hair. The theatre pulled all of the people involved out, and Nikki, her father, and Bianca were all arrested for assault. - CRAZY!

I am taking sides with Bianca. Anyone who saves seats at a sold out movie when the movie is starting, and no one is there, gets what they are asking for. And the fact that her father punched a woman to the ground - is awful. This is almost too crazy to believe.

Best Wishes

Emmy nominated actress, this year for her new show Samatha Who, Christinia Applegate has been diagnosed with breast cancer. The doctors say the outlook is good - as it is in its earliest stages, and predict that Applegate will have a quick recovery and will be cancer free very soon. Best wishes to her on her recovery.

Daily Amy: Moving

Amy's husband Blake is being moved from his prison cell to a different prison in the London countryside, following doctors orders on his physical and mental health deteriorating in prison. So Amy has decided to move as well. Her family and friends have been begging her to move out of her London flat because of the paparazzi hounds outside her door, the constant surrounding of fans, and friends that may be bad for Amy to be around who come knocking at all hours of the day. She is house shopping today - taking a break from studio work on a new album. She is said to be: healthy and happy.

#1 ... AGAIN

Well The Dark Knight continues to shatter records. It was number 1 again last weekend, beating even the new Mummy movie, which was expected to take over the top spot. But in fact it lost by millions, to finish second. It is rumored to be well on its way to beating Titanic and becoming the best selling movie of all time.

Awwwwwwwwwww!!

This might be the cutest cover ever on people magazine. Look at the one baby shooting a grin up at mamma. Look in the top right at the GORGEOUS Shiloh holding one of the babes. This just looks like the happiest family ever.

Angie and Brad sold the photo rights to both people and hello magazine. The 12 million made was all donated to charity in the names of the two tots.

You're Stuck

This is fun news for me. Katherine Heigel, who apparently runs where the bigger money is, has been trying to get out of Gray's Anatomy for a long time - and has been doing nothing but trashing the show to reporters, and slamming the writers for not writing her good enough material (even though she cannot show up to rehearsals because of her "film career"). Rumors had been circulating that they would kill off her character and release her from the show, granting her wishes. However the creator of Grays Anatomy has said: Katherine is signed on, according to her contract, for 2 more years with the show. She will complete her contractual agreements to Gray's Anatomy.

Get Well

Morgan Freeman was in a scary, near devastating, wreck this weekend. He was in Mississippi filming a movie, and on a day off was traveling late at night. He ran into another car - and flipped his own car 3 times on the highway. He was helicoptered out to the hospital, and is said to be recovering from no serious injuries. There was no traces of alcohol or any drugs of course, and sadly it appears Morgan fell asleep at the wheel. The woman in the other car is also recovering from no serious blows. Get better!

Shoot Em Up

There's been another shooting revolving around Diddy. No he didn't take part in it (like back in the day he and J-Lo were dating). However some unknown, now arrested guy, fired shots in an LA club. And there were some high profile VIP's there during the shooting; including: Diddy, Nelly, Janet Jackson, Jermaine Dupri, Usher, and Tyrese. No one was injured.

And weirder

This is for Nicholas, my boy, who loves opera. And I love weird shit. So this is a blend of us. HILLARIOUS and oddly beautiful.

GRACE JONES is back!!! She has a new album coming out in October - and just released this new video! She is one of my favorite crazy performers. And even though she is now older than God, she is still working out here in the video for Corporate Cannibal! Cannot wait for the album! Enjoy the video.

Bond Theme: Its Settled

First it was Amy Winehouse, then it was mentioned Leona Lewis or Beyonce, then the backing of Winehouse stood strong. Then faltered. Then it was Alicia Keyes. Then it was said in a statement it would be Duffy. Well now we all know who is REALLY and TRULY going to sing the new James Bond theme. It's Alicia Keyes ... AND .. Jack White.

WTF?!! This already sounds awful. I will agree with what Amy Winehouse said of the pairing: "That's gonna suck."

Vodaphone Live Nominations

The Vodaphone awards are easily compared to the Grammys in England - but only for live acts and/or concerts. And today the nominees for this years best live performers were announced. Looks like despite the on-again off-again showings, the punchings and beatings, Amy Winehouse still puts on one hell of a show. The nominees are chosen from thousands of fans who recieve free tickets to concerts all over the UK, Europe, and US.

Daily Amy: Macdonalds and Crack Pipe

Amy was spotted out at macdonalds last night being friendly and nice. Thats good - no punching this go-round. But some bad news has arrived with a set of pictures that have leaked of the inside of her home. Apparently sitting next to her MTV music award for best female artist, sits a kitten shaped crack pipe. Cute.

Emmy's Golden Girl

After causing a hilariously-controversial uproar at last years Emmy's (by declaring now that she had won an Emmy it was her God and that Jesus could suck it) Kathy Griffin has warned us already if she wins again. She says: "Trust me if I win, everyone is in for a treat. Because this year I'm not only nominated at the creative arts emmys, but also the real live tv fancy emmys!"

God I hope she wins!

Dark Knights followup

News keeps rolling in about Christopher Nolan's follow-up to "The Dark Knight" (which is on track to take over Titanic as the best selling movie of ALL time). Today reports surfaced that Johnny Depp has been approached to play the Riddler - who will be the villain in the next film. This is better news than that of yesterday, Johnny doing the mad hatter in Tim Burtons alice and wonderland (which is just boring). I think Johnny could be exciting here.

Another rumor is that the movie will also feature 2 villains. The other being the penguin. Phillip Seymore Hoffman is being pursued by the studio for that role (AWESOME).

Guess this means the reported Angelina Jolie as Catwoman - will be a spinoff movie.
