The Movie Clintons

BIG NEWS! Dennis Quaid and Julianne Moore are signed on to play Bill and Hillary Clinton in an upcoming film! The two are magical together onscreen - see them sparkle in the amazing Far From Heaven. The film, however is about Tony Blair (Michael Sheen reprising his role from the Queen). It features the Clintons in supporting roles, and is rumored to be titled "The Special Relationship" (sounds like a fitting title for the Bill and Hillary movie).

ITS OFFICIAL!!

Today it was announced in Chicago, miles away from me, that Hillary Clinton is indeed the choice for secretary of State, and she has accepted!!!!! Thats the best political news for me in a long long while. I like that Barack put aside all the past battles, and chose the best choice!! BRAVO to you both. GO HILLARY!

I HOPE!

REPORTEDLY today Hillary Clinton was offered the job of secretary of state for the Obama presidential cabinet!! No news on whether or not she has accepted. I certainly hope its true, and that she does!!! (After all secretary of state holds much more power than Vice President!)

Hillary on Future Presidency

Hillary Clinton did an interesting interview with Fox news this week. They asked her some questions about her future in politics, and she gave some saddening (to me) answers. When asked on a scale of 1 to 10 how likely would she accept the role of senate majority leader she said: “Oh, probably zero. I’m not seeking any other position than to be the best senator from New York that I can be.” Then when asked if she would join as a member of the supreme court if she was appointed by Obama (which had been rumored), she also said: "No." Then when asked if she would launch another shot at the presidency either in 4 or 8 years (depending on who wins) she said: “Probably close to zero. There’s an old saying: Bloom where you’re planted. That's what I plan to do." --- Do you hear what I hear? That's not a no!! I always wanted Hillary as president and then Barack taking over in 8 years when her two terms were up ... but I could be just as happy having it the other way around!! Either way - I loves ya Hillary.

What the hell?

Joe Biden, Obama's running mate, is praising Hillary Clinton - and yet somehow knocking himself and Barack .. I don't get it. Speaking at rally in New Hampshire on Wednesday, Mr Biden said: "Hillary Clinton is as qualified or more qualified than I am to be vice-president of the United States of America. Let's get that straight.
She's a truly close personal friend...quite frankly, it might have been a better pick than me. She may have been the better choice for vice president."

I couldnt agree with you more Mr. Biden. That said, why say that now?
Why didnt you say: "Obama, youre great, but we need to win this election. I do not accept your nomination - I would however like it if you chose Hillary Clinton because obviously thats what the voters want."

2 days after Sarah Palin talked about Hillary Clinton in her interview with Charles Gibson (praising Hillary's campaign, and her as a strong women, she even said that Obama is going to regret not picking her -- which is the only thing I agree with Palin on) - Hillary has mentioned Sarah in an interview with Diane Sawyer last night on ABC news. Hillary said plain and simple: "Sarah Palin is exciting but she is certainly not vote worthy." BAM!

Now this is class! Hillary Clinton last night at the Democratic National Convention gave the best speech I have ever heard. I voted for Hillary, I would vote for her again for anything. She is the woman for me. And because she has switched her support over to Obama - I, in turn, will as well.

The Clinton Power

Hillary Clinton says she truly wants Barack Obama to win the White House, even though he dashed her own presidential dreams. And she's going to keep saying it, despite those who doubt her. Yesterday she appeared in Nevada to again campaign for Barack to be the president. That added onto Hillary's prime-time speech at the democratic convention where she will not only officially concede to Barack she will tell the entire party to rally behind him. Bill Clinton will also be speaking on the third night of the convention, in support of Barack.

Barack Obama, in an effort to ensure my vote, is lending a hand to Hillary Clinton. He is asking that his fund raisers send in money to Hillary Clinton, to pay back some of the debt she has endured during the primary season. That is very nice. Now if he would only pick her as the VP nominee.

A new poll also shows that 86% of Hillary supporters now say they will vote Obama. And Obama leads McCain by 20% points in the national poll.

Hillary joins Obama

Politically I like this news. Today Hillary Clinton released a press release that this weekend she would join Obama at an appearance for a fund raiser. Clinto will gather together some of her biggest financial backers, and she will ask of them to throw their money behind Obama. He accepted the invitation to appear and speak at the event alongside her. Very gracious of her. I am thinking she wants the VP spot, I certainly hope so. Reguardless I think they are both doing their best to unify the party, and this is a good start. Maybe if I can hear Hillary speak good of Obama I will buy into the hype. :)

Dream Ticket?

Shall I get political for a moment? Yes. I shall. (And plus I am about done with my break - so I might as well post again .. this blogging is addictive).

I was a staunch Hillary supporter. Have been from day one, and still am. Even though she has conceded the democratic nomination to Obama. I am a little bitter about it. I think there was a lot of sexism, and a lot of hype over a man that doesnt have a track record that can in any way match to Clinton's. But I digress ... I will throw my support behind Obama, because I must. I am not one of those bitter folks who are going to turn against my party just because my party did something stupid (well maybe not stupid ... hows wreckless?). So I am in my transitioning phase right now. Getting over my semi-dislike for Obama - and trying to be a supporter of him - and not just the democratic party. In the end it wont be too hard I am hoping.

Know what would make it easier?? If he did the smart thing and picked Clinton as his running mate. I think he needs her. Its obvious the party is split. In the last weeks of the primary contests, Clinton won 5 of the last 7 states. So Obama didn't sweep the nation, far from it, he split it - along with Hillary. Now I think the 2 of them together would be unbeatable.

Do I think he will do it? No.
Do I think he should? Yes.
Will I beg to him? Yes.
