Amy out on town

Amy was looking HOT last night as she attended a party in a local pub (uh oh). But she was on her best behavior. She had some drinks, looked sexy and lucid. Then she left the club, but not before changing into street wear .. see below how she looked on her walk home - still cute! (and in the pic she actually looks like she is helping a even drunker friend home)

Back together again

Well well well, my favorite onscreen duo of last year are all set up to be back together on the big screen. None other than "The Wrestler"'s Mickey Rourke and Marisa Tomei. They are set to star in "The Night Job", which will begin shooting this summer. The plot is listed as:
After ten years on parole, Jimmy Herron’s debt to society will soon be paid in full. But his old partner has recently moved into art smuggling and the NYPD wants Jimmy to frame him… or else. With his wife and child threatened, Jimmy’s life is turned inside out and he’s only got till morning to set things right.
No news onto who is playing what, but I will be there - thats for sure.
Tilda's Latest
Here is Tilda Swinton's newest film trailer - THE LIMITS OF CONTROL, also starring Bill Murray and Gael GarcĂa Bernal
Mickey Confirmed for Iron Man

Mickey Rourke's career just got a blockbuster boost as finally today he was officially announced to play the villain in Iron Man 2. Rourke will play Whiplash, a true to form Russian Villain. However he will have some help, as Scarlett Johannson has been cast as Black Widow - the female baddie. I am super excited!
The famous singer on the Idol groups

Okay so I found an article in which 4 "famous" superstars in music watch and critique American Idol singers .. no clue how famous they are when they have time to watch and critique AI, but oh well. Although they do not list who the celeb's are, they do give descriptions:
* Our first celebrity won a Grammy award last month, and has released 3 multi-platinum albums in their field.
* Our second celebrity is a Grammy award winning producer
* Our third celebrity is a dancer, choreographer, and song writer.
* Our fourth celebrity is a vocal coach who works with today's most popular musical groups
Here's what they had to say about Michael Jackson week:
LIL ROUNDS
* Lil did a great job with this song!
*This performance was way too shouty for me, almost to the point of being a very loud monotone.
* I normally don’t like songs that require the singer to change the gender of the lyrics, but it wasn’t so blatant with this song so I gave Lil a pass on that.
* I think the vocal could have used a little more grit, bite, and nuance, but her voice still commanded the song.
SCOTT
* It wasn’t the most exciting song ever but it got the audience up on their feet and Scott definitely connected with them.
* Scott didn’t give us a technically brilliant performance, but he made up for it with his moxie.
* He was obviously at home on the piano and did an excellent job!
* This certainly wasn't memorable in any way.
DANNY
* Oh my. I didn’t like the beginning of this song at all. And it kinda threw me off for the rest of the performance.
* Danny’s performance, like Lil’s, was incredibly shouty and somewhat overrated.
* It got much better as he kicked into gear, but all I could think of as he “danced” around was Taylor Hicks.
* He really got into it, and his voice became rich, soulful, and powerful!
MICHAEL
* Michael sounded really great.
* I like this song, but I didn't think it suited Michael's voice much at all.
* The performance was much better that I had expected.
* He was a bit breathy, but he did a pretty decent job with it.
JASMINE
* Her performance was very controlled but at times I felt like she didn’t quite hit the note she was looking for.
* Jasmine proved herself this week.
* Jasmine’s performance didn’t start off bad, but I got bored very quickly.
* I watched a teenage girl who, while poised, still seemed overwhelmed by the experience.
KRIS
* There were some iffy notes in there and I didn’t love it.
* What exactly did that guitar add to the performance?
* Kris surprised me by coming out with such energy.
* Unfortunately, tonight, the band arrangement overwhelmed him.
ALLISON
* She did her thing, but it didn't do much for me.
* I thought this was the best performance of the week so far.
* I’m not quite sure what to think about Allison’s performance, but she definitely looked comfortable on the stage.
* I think the balance of the band and her voice wasn't as blended or powerful as it could have been, resulting in a performance that seemed slightly underwhelming to me.
ANOOP
* It just didn't work.
* Anoop gave such a weak, bland performance.
* It seemed like karaoke – good karaoke, but still karaoke.
* This is the worst performance of the night so far.
JORGEY
* Oh yikes, Jorge had some rough notes.
* This was a humongous letdown.
* It was a bit boring and awkward and a poor song choice.
* Jorge didn't have the ability to show his strengths as an artist.
MEGAN
* She was all over the place.
* I wanted to like someone as fun as Megan, but she needed to find a key and stick with it.
* She is infectious on the stage, and I like it.
* Well, you love her or you hate her, and I'm in the camp that really enjoys her quirky style and voice.
ADAM
* I haven’t been the biggest Adam fan but I really liked his performance this week!
* I’ll say this was my favorite performance of the season so far
* So far over the top it was ridiculous.
* Adam is unquestionably the most charismatic performer on the Idol stage this year.
MATT
* He sounded good, didn’t blow me away but it wasn’t bad.
* Not the best of the week, not the worst.
* It was okay, but not great.
* Still, I felt like he let his voice take a backseat in the performance, which is unfortunate, considering he actually gave glimpses a rather good vocal performance.
ALEXIS
* Alexis did her thing with it but it sounded like she ran out of breath at times, especially at the start.
* Alexis gave us enough reason to know the number 36.
* Not the best of the night, but certainly up there.
* Very over the top and uninpressive.
Daily Amy 2: Banned from US (again)

Its deja-vu all over again as Amy Winehouse was yet again denied a Visa to enter the US. This time she had to pull out of Coachella, last time she had to pull out of live Grammy performance (which they ended up showing via satellite). The reason all surrounds the assault charge I blogged about a week or so ago. About 6 months ago Amy punched some fan in the face at a private concert event, and now the woman has slapped Amy with an assault charge. Because it hasn't gone to court yet, Amy is held in the UK and not allowed to travel to the US. BUMMER!
HOWEVER, the good news is, Amy will be able to perform 5 concerts in the UK for the anniversary of Island Records, her label. Those concerts are planned for next month! HOORAY!
Daily Amy: Still wanting Blake

While the news surrounding the now-free jailbird Blake is that he has shacked up with a 16 year old girlfriend, Amy Winehouse is still trying to get her husband back. Amy Winehouse released a statement through her publicist and her UK facebook page, that she would "Give up music for Blake, because nothing is as important as him." She also asked: "Where is my oblivious Blakey boy? This all makes no sense."
Dancing With the Stars Curse?

First it was Jewel, then it was Nancy O'Dell. Both dropped out of the competition due to injuries. Then this week Steve-O, from Jackass, has gotten himself a pinched nerve, and now Steve W., co-founder of Apple and ex of Kathy Griffin, is in a cast. He refuses to give up though saying his dance this week would be "Even faster and more fun than last week."
Just don't let Lil' Kim get hurt!
The comeback kid?

Michael Jackson, although creepy and pedophilic, is coming back on tour, after a long hiatus. He needs the money folks, he is bankrupt basically. But .. NOT ANYMORE. He is throwing all his pennies into the pot of his "This is It" tour, which will be in London. And .. IT PAID OFF. Michael SOLD OUT all 50 shows hew planned in the HUGE London's O2 arena. Tickets went from as much as 200 bucks to the highest price 14,000$ .. WOW. I guess the king is back?
Lady Gaga Tour Going Now

It also contains Papparazzi - my fav song!
Coming Soon: IT (remake)

I dont know whether to rejoice or be pissed. But Warner Brothers has bought the rights to Stephen King's "IT", one of the scariest made for tv mini-series ever. I know I had nightmares as a child about this film. But it is SO good, how could it ever be better? And if they dont cast Tim Curry - they fail I say.
Grey Gardens - The movie
HBO has filmed and is about to premiere "Grey Gardens" the movie, based off of the documentray of the same title, which was also turned into a hit broadway musical. It is one of my favorite documentaries (if not films) of all time. I was skeptical when I heard they were making it into a film version, and even more skeptical when they cast Drew Barrymore as Little Edie. However, Jessica Lange - my favorite actress of all time, was cast as big Edie and I got excited. However from the little promo's Ive seen, including the one above - it looks AMAZING!
Murderers!

Finally, years after Anna Nicole Smith's death, Howard K. Stern has been arrested and turned himself in for a long line of crimes (along with the "Doctor" Sandeep Kapoor). The 2 were charged with 8 felonies. Including:
* Conspiracy to furnish controlled substances to Smith between July, 2004 and January 2007.
* Stern and Kapoor were charged with one count of unlawfully prescribing a controlled substance.
* Stern was charged with unlawfully prescribing a controlled substance between June 2004 and January 2007.
* Stern and Kapoor were each charged with obtaining a prescription for opiates by "fraud, deceit or misrepresentation."
* Stern and Kapoor were both also charged with one count of obtaining a prescription for opiates by giving a false name or address.
* Kapoor and Stern were also charged with one count of "prescribing, administering or dispensing a controlled substance to an addict."
Bail was set at 20,000 each, and somehow they both got the money and now are out of jail.
I KNEW this bastard had something to do with Anna's death. And I personally think that his aiding an addict, who was in no state to make her own decisions, helped kill her.
Send them to jail!

American Idol: Top 13

The top 16 on American Idol performed last night, and overall it was an entertaining show! The theme, Michael Jackson, which is tough to say the least. Here, in corralation with the photo I made above, are my rundowns from best to worst:
#1 - ALEXIS - She was a powerhouse! A surprise pick for my number one slot, I found Alexis to be the most entertaining and exciting of the night. I had almost forgotten why I liked her so much. The performance just built and built until it exploded just to do it again. Perfect song, perfect performance, I had chills.
#2 - ADAM - I am coming to think that Adam can do no wrong as a singer and performer. He did a great job of making this song his own. He sang with passion, emotion, and proved he is a threat in this competition. He was fantastic!
#3 - MEGAN - My favorite little songbird took on Rockin' Robin, and while some didn't like the song choice - I loooooved it. I could actually make love with the song choice if that was possible. Megan was adorable, sang great, and with the birdlike theme of the song, it allowed her to flap her wings and do her cute Amy Winehouse-like dancing. She is original, different, and wonderful.
#4 - ALLISON - Although she was not as good as when she sang Alone, she still was stellar! And leaps and bounds better than everyone under her. AND she sang my favorite Michael song - Give In To Me! She was great, and she stuck to what she does best. She's a rocker chick on this show with a chance to stick around!
#5 - MATT - He once again proved why I like him. He is a talented singer with a bluesy feel that I find different from the array of boring and robotic guys below.
#6 - KRIS - The big surprise of the night for me! He was actually good!! I now may be in the pro-Kris camp. Now, don't get too excited .. I don't really like him yet, however I knew I would like the 5 above, but I also knew I wouldn't like Kris, and he changed my mind. Good for him.
#7 - DANNY - Couldn't disagree more with Paula's comment that Danny's voice is one that you would know on the radio. I certainly wouldn't. Because there is nothing original about his voice. Its a good voice, sure, but very very bland. That's why he is so low here. He sang well, but kinda looked silly and screeched a bit. I just cannot buy into the Danny love.
#8 - LIL - Another person I will never be able to buy into is Lil Rounds. Sure, she can sing, but she didn't do herself any favors tonight. She was first of all a bore, and second of all not interesting in the slightest. The only thing I noticed about her performance, if I'm being honest, was her huge butt.
#9 - MICHAEL - I was sure he would have been my number 13. However, he sang in tune, and therefore beat out the losers who rank under him. It was NOTHING special or good though. Just in tune.
#10 - JASMINE - I do not know why she is in this competition. She sang a bit in tune, and a bit all over the place. All the while being boring. She should go home soon. Please. If I wanted to watch Mo'Nique I would watch the Parkers! (and I do, I love Mo'Nique)
#11 - SCOTT - Good god can you spell over hype. Scott IS NOT a good singer. He has never proved to me, in any round, that he is. Let's put aside the silliness, and put our hurt feelings aside from my negativity, and let me spell the truth: Scott is in this competition because he is blind! People feel pity or sympathy or what have you. And they completely turn a deaf ear to the fact that he cannot sing AT ALL. Its a singing competition! Not a piano playing competition (if it was, Matt would win that) or a scary gaze competition (which Scott would sail away with). I just wish a better singer was in his spot.
#12 - JORGEY - Wow. All I can say is that this makes Sanjaya look like Enrique Englasias. Well maybe it wasn't that bad, but there was nothing good to be found here.
#13 - ANOOP - This performance will go down in the books as one of the worst performances ever on American Idol. He is all of a sudden cocky, with nothing to back it up. He is a ridiculous performer and bad singer. And he should never have even been allowed in the top group. GO HOME!
---
Okay now that thats out of the way, here is the 3 I predict will be in the bottom 3:
obviously it should be Anoop, Jorgey, and Scott ... however I predict that:
Jorgey, Jasmine, and Megan will be in the bottom with Jorgey and Jasmine packing (which would also be great)!
But tonight theres a twist ... who knows whats going on?
tune in

Megan Interviewed!

Megan was interviewed by MTV last night, as she has been pegged as MTV's favorite by a couple of reporters. Here is her interview .. I like this girl:
A lot of people remark on the way that you dance, it's very interesting and unique. Can you tell us about that?
I really don't know why that happens. When I start singing I just flop around, it just happens. I don't know!
What are your musical influences?
My number one influence is Bjork. I started listening to her when I was 16. Her music is so beautiful and original and different and emotional. I just love it.
Can you tell us about your tattoo?
It's a castle and there's a sky above it. There is a fairy godmother (my mom), a wizard (my brother) and a prince (my son). I told the artist what I wanted and he drew it up. I'm very blessed and I love my family, so that's my tattoo.
How many tattoos do you actually have in total?
I have 7 if you count my sleeve as one.
What are they and how long did it take your sleeve to complete?
My sleeve isn't complete. It's a castle in my fairy tale. I have my son's name on my wrist and I have two stars on my back for me and my mom. I have my middle name, Joy, on my hip and I have just a jumble of things I love on both my feet.
When you auditioned, did you ever think you would have this?
No way. I never even had a solo in high school choir, I didn't think I'd make it out of the first round.
Utah has always been a very closed place and here you come with this very open, great personality. Can you talk about that?
Utah is a very friendly place, a great place to raise a family.
Do you play any intsruments?
I don't sadly.
Do you plan to learn any in this experience?
I would love to learn the piano or the guitar, so if anybody wants to teach me, I'm ready!
What music theme would scare you?
I'm not really scared but I'm a little unsure with Country Week because I don't listen to a lot of country.
You think you could pull it off?
Yeah, I'm gonna do it. I'll tear it up.
Closing remarks?
Just thank you!
American Idol: Top 13

The top 13 (ugh) have been announced after last nights Wild Card show. It was a heck of a show. I thought there were some great performances: Meghan and Matt come to mind. Some average ones, and some boring ones (including the other 2 who passed on Jasmine and Anoop), and a disaster courtesy of Tatiana. I talked her up yesterday, and rightfully so. However she screwed herself over by singing the same song, a little worse, and being overtly crazy and cocky all at once. I still wish she had a slot, because the top group is so boring, but in the end, it was her own fault. I can only support the underdog for so long, and she did nothing to help herself last night. So I have to suck that one up, knowing she had no shot to win even if she was allowed in. However, I really hope that Meghan and Matt get rejuvenated in the top group with their second chance. Here is my rundown of the top 13 .. in the order of how I like them:
1) MEGHAN - She is the only contestant this year that truly excites me. Simon was right about her, in contest of somewhat boring and safe performers, who come off karaoke like, Meghan is a breath of fresh air. She's the only one with her type of voice, style, and attitude in the top 13. I desperately want someone like her to go far. She is current, she is likeable, and most of all her voice is something different. And in a competition where most people sound the same, I am so glad I have her to choose.
2) ADAM - The only real exciting guy this season. His voice is powerful and amazing, that aside - he is exciting. I will be curious and ready to see what he does every week. He may have the best voice, and certainly will put on a show. Thank God.
3) ALLISON - Although she is a bit annoying in interviews, this girl can sing her heart out. I have really only seen her perform once at this point, but if its any clue as to what to look forward too .. I am completely intruiged.
4) MATT - Thank goodness he is back in. I happened to like (most of) him the first week he was featured, and on Wildcard night he blew it out of the park. His voice is very bluesy, and not a copycat of the other boring guys. I look forward to seeing how he will handle the show.
5) ALEXIS - The only other singer that I deem interesting in the group. She's tiny wish a huge voice, she's soulful and stylish. I think she has a real shot at putting out some knockout performances.
---- just so you know its now like pulling at straws for me to finish the list---
6) LIL ROUNDS - She is boring, she is a copycat, there is nothing unique or exciting about her .. but she probably has the next best voice - hence why she is here.
7) DANNY - A very good voice, but so average sounding. And I find him boring as a person. I think people like him though, and he will probably go far. I, for one, couldn't care less.
---- OH MY GOD how do I choose now? ----
8) JORGE - I am picking him only because his voice sounds a little different, because of the accent. I do not think he is any good.
9) KRIS - I am putting him here because he is cute. There is nothing about him I find interesting or good in any way though.
10) ANOOP - I guess he can carry a tune .. I dont know.
11) SCOTT - His backstory and handicapp got him here, and thats awful because he is an average singer at the very best. But he plays piano, so he gets higher than the other 2.
12) JASMINE - WHAT THE HELL?! She shouldn't be here. I just hate her a little less than my last spot.
13) MICHAEL - He was one of the worst his week - and definitely the worst in this group.
What an overall letdown of a group. However I do feel VERY strongly about Meghan and Adam, and I like Allison and Alexis and Matt. So I will continue to watch.
Just because I like predictions, here's how I predict this season will go (sadly to say)
13 - Michael
12 - Jasmine
11 - Meghan
10 - Jorge
9 - Alexis
8 - Kris
7 - Matt
6 - Lil Rounds
5 - Allison
4 - Adam
3 - Anoop
2 - Scott
1 - Danny
I am basing this on, peoples backstories, how much people are talking about loving these fools, and how American Idol voters ALWAYS get it wrong.
if this happens, I will kill myself.
Adele thanks Winehouse

Adele, who just won 2 grammys this year, has much respect and love for Amy Winehouse. The 2 actually attended the same school when they were younger (as did Lily Allen). Adele let her feelings for Winehouse out in an interview when she said:
"I think Amy is hardcore. She is a true phenomenon. If my voice were half as interesting and powerful as hers, I'd be happy. When Amy was big in America, me and Duffy were blowing up in England, and I think it made the journey over a bit smoother for us. Amy was the first brit woman to just blow up America. And I think that left a taste for me, which allowed me to do as well as I did. People compare me to Amy sometimes, and I am honored. However I think I'm really contemporary. But we are alike in that we are both very mouthy. I love that girl, and cannot wait to hear more music from her. I just will plan not to release my cd the same day."
LOVE you Adele!
Amy slapped with Charges

Shes back in London, and seemingly better than ever, but Amy Winehouse still has to stand for previous charges which were left hanging when she left the country. Yesterday she was taken into court to settle an assault charge from 6 months ago when Amy was playing a private gig, and punched a fan in the face when she asked for an autograph. Amy's people said this:
"Amy voluntarily attended a police station in London yesterday morning. She was questioned by appointment in relation to an accusation made after the Berkeley ball last year. Things should be settled soon. Amy wants all of this behind her, as it is obvious she is now healthy and happy. She wants to focus on the music."
